We had an uneventful flight to Egypt. We landed and got through everything at the airport no problem. our tour guide was waiting for us on the other side. We hopped in his car and drove to the hotel.
The sun was going down when we arrived but we could still see how cool our hotel was!
The next morning after breakfast we were supposed to go to the Central Museum in Cairo. They had been having their revolution not long ago and the museum was right on the central square. Our guide said we should go to the museum in the morning because every day around 4 people come to the square to protest someone gets shot and everyone goes home.....
They had a lot of larger statues outside
We werent allowed to take our cameras inside or our bags. We were advised to leave our stuff in the car. So we did. After the museum we went to the Nile for a quick boat ride
Then off to the pyramids. The traffic was pretty crazy
The pyramids were cool but so hectic. So many people there and so many people there trying to sell you crap. They wont leave you alone and they are all selling the same crap
It was great to see the pyramids. Something you hear so much about in your childhood but never thought you would get a chance to see.
We also got to check out the Sphinx!
That evening we were supposed to take a train to Luxor. So to kill time we went to a market
This is a mosque behind us
Our train was supposed to arrive about 9:00 we were there on time but were warned that the trains are always late. So an hour passed, then 2 then 3 then 4. Finally we were tired and told them we dont want to go. If that means tomorrow we have a free day so be it this was no fun. So we went back to the hotel. Our guide told us tomorrow he would drive us to Alexandria instead.
