Belgrade, Serbia and Castles

We landed on January 1 in Belgrade. Our rental car agency wasnt there for some reason. So we took a taxi to our hotel since it was late. The next morning we went back to the airport to pick up our rental car. then headed out of Belgrade

We stopped first at a gas station to get some water and this Yugo was sitting there!

We were headed east the the views were nice!

We stumbled across this old run down castle

It was right on the river. The sun was poking it head up and the temperature was rising!

We stopped in a town for lunch and found this contraption

The cigeratte lighter in our car didnt work so our GPS died quickly. So we bought a map and kept on truckin!

It was getting late and we saw this roadside hotel so we stopped

Nobody was there though. We were about to leave when the neighbor came out and saw us. He said he would call the people and to come into his home to wait. So we did and he gave us some bread and home made alchohol of some kind!

It was run by an older lady and her husband. Serbian and Russian come from the same language group so they have some similarities. The lady spoke Russian a bit so we were able to have a conversation. We all laughed and told stories for a couple hours then headed to bed

This was our view. You can see off in the distance a castle we wanted to explore.
