So I make it to Lviv but cant find any place open yet its to early on Sunday. I drive around and see a guy on an old Izh Planetta Sport!!! I stop and talk to him in my best Russian and tell him what my problem is. He also doesn't know Russian so well but says wait while he finishes his coffee then we will go. So after his coffee I help him push start his bike then follow him about 3 blocks to his place.
We go to his little garage and start searching through a bucket of old bolts.... to short and to long.... Well I decide to rig it and take one of the m8 bolts thats to long and use a m10 nut as a spacer to take up the slack I was needing. While all this is happening he was on his phone and soon is garage neighbors show up. I get to talking to them about old Soviet bikes and one of them says wow you really know a lot about Soviet Bikes. I explain I am restoring one and playing with them all the time.
The 2 neighbor guys open their garages and one of them have an old R71 Nazi BMW and the other has one of the few Soviet M72's from the war also!!
So we are talking and and they tell me there is a WWII reenactment today about 60 miles from where I just came but I say ahh what the hell lets go!!!
The reenactment was cool but lasted WAYYY to long and finally I was down the road ended up in a small hotel about 60 miles the other side of Lviv.
