I made it to Lemans and found a place to set up my tent. It was getting late so I ate and checked in for the night, wasn't much going on.
Next day I went grocery shopping and walked towards the village they have in the track. Nobody would let me in with my ticket. I was getting frustrated and asked what is my ticket good for.
I dont know you should as the info desk
Sooo where is the info desk
Through the gate here.
Can I go there
Just pay the 40 Euro entrance
No call security to escort me there.
No sir please leave...
I went back to my tent upset and decided to lay down take a nap and think about it.
When I woke up I head neighbors from London. One of them has been here 16 times. I talked to them and they brought my spirits up and helped me out explaining to me what I can do.
Then testing started. I am camped next to the Porsche Curves so we went to check it out.
I was at the Indy 500 a few years ago and that was impressive but not like this.
These are not cars, they are steerable and agile rocket ships! Just unreal the power they have!!!!
The Nissan Nismo! I am cheering for this one simply because they have came with a design that isnt similar to anything else on the track!
After I meet my new neighbors I went back to the circuit village. THis time I was let in the same gate I was refused earlier. I guess the lady just didnt know what she was doing
The Village
Some of the displays and pavilions
Audi
KTM X-Bow
They had some night qualifying
Evidently I didn't do much on the 11th I don't have any pics.
On the 12th there was mostly parties
At a round a-about
Back at the campground I think its safe to say we had a good time!
One of the British and one of the French guys staying at the camp ground! They were good people!
At sometime in the night a guy with a TVR showed up and joined the party
It was a crazy night with alot of interesting things going on all over the place. I think the next day we were all a little slower for sure.
There was a display of the Ford vs Ferrari rivalry in the 60's
A Cobra Daytona
One of the early GT-40's and a Ferrari
These guys were crazy. Only 2 guys drove, instead of the 3 now, AJ Foyt and Dan Gurney won in 1968. Their average speed for the whole race has only been beaten a few times since then
They had a short vintage race before the start of the Lemans
Cars that were post war up to 1968
