Berlin Soviet Cemetery

After the Technical Museum We hopped on the metro and headed to the Olympic Stadium. This was the stadium used in the 1936 olympics

We couldnt get on a tour so just saw it from the outside

The next day we got a late start and went to see the Soviet cemetery and monument. This was one of the first monuments built after the war and the largest until the mid 60's when they built the one in Stalingrad

Around 7000 guys buried here

The signs said that around 20,000 Soviets died taking Berlin. Its been said that the Western Powers let The Soviets take Berlin because they deserved to take the capitol after what they went through.... That may or may not be but if it took 20,000 more lives was it much of a present?
