From the Bridge head we continues on to Kaniv. It was an uneventful but hot ride to get there. When we pulled into town we came across this little outdoor military museum.
There were some stray dogs hiding in the shade under the vehicles and Olga just had to play with them.
Three was an armored train
Tank
This armored Personnel Carrier that was damaged in the war currently happening in Eastern Ukraine
We went to the Schevchenko Museum and the spot where he is buried. Its on top of a huge hill. This old man was playing when we arrived
They had some little traditional buildings also
The monument
The best part was by far the view! behind me there is a damn, its hard to see but its there.
After that we went down to the bus stop. We drank some Kvass and got some food. Olga was waiting for her bus back to Kiev. I went on down the road looking for a place to camp.
I usually start looking for a camping spot at about 7:00 sometimes it happens quick other times it takes a while to find something enjoyable. Tonight it took a while. I had been sweating all day so wanted to swim. Finally I found a spot that was suitable but there was an ant infestation. I set my tent up away from everything and put some peanuts I had out on the ground hoping they would eat that instead of me. I was comfortable all night and swam for a while. All in all a very nice evening.
