We were awakened the next day by the sound of a truck. There were 3 guys that came about 100 meters from us and started burning a brush pile and loading up rocks in their truck, I am pretty sure they weren't supposed to be doing this. We talked for a bit then packed up to leave. We found the "good road" to get out so it wasnt as challenging. This road took us through the abandoned city that was built here to supply the workers for the quarry.
This was the "good road"
The first goal for the day was a place called Kamine Celo, Translates to like stone village.
It wasn't far from us but it was all on back roads.
This was the entrance to a little village
I saw this out of the corner of my eye so turned around to check it out. It was a small old dam. Looked like it doesnt work anymore but it was interesting
As we got closer the ride became more interesting. We had to cross this stream. It was either use the bridge or, like most others, cross the stream. The stream was about a meter deep so I didnt want to mess around in it if I didnt need to.
I kindly asked the photographer to get off the bike for two reasone. First to take photos! Second I figured if I fell or the bridge broke there was no point in both of us getting hurt.
It wasn't long after that we made it to the Stone Village.
From the info I can find online about it nobody seems to know where the stones came from. They are all the size of small houses and there are hundreds, hence the name Stone Village.
After walking around a while we loaded up and headed down the dusty road. It was about 40km of horrible washboard dirt roads before we were back on the main road.
We kept trucking on then ran across this working open pit mine!
It was massive! Makes me wonder how deep was the one we were swimming the previous day.
Just down the road was the waste dirt from the mine.
We pressed on, heading towards a place called White lake, so called do tot he white appearance of the lake because the bottom of it is sand.
To get there we had to drive about 10km through horrible lose sand tracks. The bike sliding every which way you can imagine. It was slow going
Then there started to appear mud holes through out the path. It was not getting easier!
Finally we made it! It wasn't going to be a secluded and peaceful as the previous night but it was nice to stop after the path to get here!
The evening was spent walking around the lake looking to see if there was a better way out than what we came in on. We thought we found one. :)
